Top gospel artists in Nigeria gathered amidst tears in Lagos State to bid farewell to their late colleague, Sammie Okposo, who died on November 25.
Okposo’s death came as a shock to many Nigerians, including his colleagues, who are shocked and saddened by the passing of Okposo, who is a legend in the industry.
The singer who was known for his electric performance was said to have died in his sleep as against earlier speculations that he slumped.
The Niger Delta-born music star was also known for emboldening the gospel music scene by taking his music away from the quiet confines of the church.
His daughter, Alula, two weeks ago said her father’s death has left her feeling “blank.”
Videos from the industry night of tributes and farewell service shown the moment Alula Okposo, performed a song alongside some backup singers.
His burial ceremony which was officiated the Senior pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin and Dr. Flourish Peters, senior pastor of The L.O.G.I.C (Love Of God In Christ) Church was also attended by by coworkers and friends, including Nollywood actor Segun Arinze.
