Kogi monarch Maigari of Lokoja dies at 80

The Lokoja traditional council has announced the demise of the Maigari of Lokoja, Dr Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi III.

According to The PUNCH, the announcement was made by the secretary of the Lokoja traditional rulers council, Muhammed Nalado on Wednesday evening.

It was gathered that the 80-year-old monarch died on Wednesday evening after a brief illness in a private hospital in Abuja.

As obtained from the statement, the late Monarch would be buried on Thursday in Lokoja at 4 pm.

The late monarch who ascended the throne in 1992 was one of the longest-serving traditional rulers in Kogi State.

The statement said the late royal father will be buried on Thursday in Lokoja at 4 pm.
