FCT names five-member Hajj committee
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Olusade Adesola, has named a five-member committee to oversee the operations and ensure 2023 Hajj pilgrims in Federal Capital Territory are well treated.
According to The PUNCH, the committee were unveiled in a statement signed by the FCTA Director of Information and Communication Technology, Muhammad Sule, on Friday.
The committee, headed by the Director of the Human Resources Department, Muhammad Bashir, will partner with the FCT Pilgrims Welfare Board in their activities to enhance the board’s operations for effective service delivery to pilgrims.
Adesola, during the inauguration of the committee in Abuja on Friday, called on the committee members to identify clogs in the wheel of smooth operations of the 2023 Hajj and profer solutions for an impressive exercise.
While urging members of the committee to view the appointment as a national assignment and a service to God and humanity, he explained that the administration set up the committee to properly coordinate Hajj activities and strengthen the capacity of the board to undertake its responsibilities.
Adesola explained that the members of the committee were carefully selected after thorough delibration to help the pilgrims achieve their religious obligations even as he said the activities of the Board must be open and transparent to serve the purpose of its establishment.
The five-member committee includes Muhammad Bashir as chairman; Leradoh Abdulrazaq, Muhammad Sule, and Hajarat Alayande as members; and Ghali Kassim, who is to serve as secretary.
The Committee Chairman, Muhammad Bashir, on behalf of the committee, expressed gratitude to the Permanent Secretary for trusting them; and assured that the Committee will work tirelessly to promote the Board’s activities and ensure the success of the 2023 Hajj exercise
