Enugu funds 300 Christians' Israel, Jordan pilgrimage

The Enugu State Government has disclosed that it has sponsored 300 prospective pilgrims to Isreal, Jordan for the 2023 pilgrimage.

According to The PUNCH, the governor of the state, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, on Tuesday while addressing the pilgrims urged them to pray for the state and the incoming administration of Dr Peter Mbah.

Ugwuanyi said, “God, in His infinite mercies, guided the administration; and Enugu to date remains the most peaceful state in the country.”

The governor also stated that the 300 Christian pilgrims went to Israel “to give glory to God for His love and mercy for the past eight years,” stressing that as a true Christian, his administration had walked the talk.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam, expressed his joy at Ugwuanyi’s dedication to the religious practise from the start of his administration.

He went on to say that the governor’s active participation in ensuring that Enugu State was the first to begin the trip during each batch was the key to the program’s success throughout the country.
