Eid-el-Kabir: Ogun clerics seek citizens contribution to nation building

The League Of Imams and Alfas, Ogun State chapter, has called on every Nigerian to contribute in nation building for the progress for the country.

The President of the League, Shaykh Sikirullahi Babalola, made this call on Wednesday, in its Sallah’s message by the Secretary-Genrral, Tajudeen Adewunmi, made available to journalists.

Adewunmi said that “every citizen of the country is urged to play their roles in nation building.”

The cleric stressed that as new administrations had just begun across the country, “political leaders and politicians are urged to fear Allah in the discharge of the responsibilities they were elected for.”

Adeeummi said that “political leaders should seek urgent solutions to excruciating poverty, ravaging insecurity, economic rigours, education anomalies, infrastructural decays and other menaces that are plaguing our dear nation.”

While noting that Nigerians are resilient and hardworking, he added that “they only require committed and sincere leaders to paddle the canoe of the country to greatness.

“The sacrifice of the citizens should be compensated with projects and policies that would alleviate the suffering of the people to reflect the abundant resources the country is blessed with.”
