Eid-El-Kabir: Ebonyi gov urges political leaders to preach peace, unity
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has called on political leaders to advocate for love, peace, and unity irrespective of religious or political affiliation for the progress of Nigeria
The governor made the call in a message during the 2023 Eid-el-Kabir celebration on Wednesday.
Nwifuru said, “For the country to attain greatness, our Leaders should at all times preach peace and unity and display love towards one another irrespective of religious and political affiliations”.
The governor urged Nigerians to follow in footsteps of prophet Ibrahim by showing kind gestures to their neighbours.
“As you celebrate today, I want to appeal to you to remember the downtrodden who needs your help. You must strive to give them a sense of belonging. You must also use this solemn occasion to reflect on the life of prophet Ibrahim’s sacrifice and obidence to Almighty Allah.”
While taking advantage of the Eid-El-Kabir celebration to laud Muslims in the State for their steadfastness, the governor assured his administration commitment providing selfless service to residents of the state, irrespective of religious affiliation.
Nwifuru then called on Muslims to continue to pray and support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to succeed in the in his quest to move the nation forward.
