The Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Cross River State, Dr Lawrence Ekwok has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to cancel and repeat the elections in areas where some people were denied to vote adding where other election materials were either carted away or destroyed by political thugs.

Dr. Ekwok also said that other areas where elections should be canceled and repeated should include polling units or states where ballot papers did not contain the logo of some political parties.

Vanguard reports that the cleric submitted that if INEC look into this it would prevent possible protests from those who feel disenfranchised, saying that it will also further deter criminal activities.

The PFN boss, in a statement he personally signed, said, “If this is done, eventual winner of the election will be confident of having the mandate of the Nigerian people while also discouraging thuggery and impunity in future elections.”

While condemning the activities of the political thugs, he criticized a situation where ordinary Nigerians would openly threaten other citizens and sending them home if they will not vote for their, noting that “ nobody is more Nigerian than other Nigerians.”

He then urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, to walk the talk by ensuring it assures Nigerians that the commission is truly committed to conducting free, fair and credible elections.

Dr. Ekwok implored Cross Riverians, especially members of the PFN Cross River State to come out en masse to vote in the governorship and House of Assemly elections.

He urged INEC to speedily upload the results to avoid the suspicion that its officials are trying to compromise and alter results.
