Gunmen kidnap prominent Ondo Islamic cleric
Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped the Chief Imam, Alhaji Ibrahim Bodunde Oyinlade of the Uso community in the Akure North Local Government Counci Area of Ondo state.
It was learnt that the prominent Islamic cleric was kidnapped at about 3 pm on Saturday at Asolo Farm Camp, Uso community.
While speaking with newsmen, sources said that the abductors have reportedly opened a line of communication with the victims family members, adding that they were yet to demand ransom but have informed the family to go look for ” good money” to secure the release of the cleric.
The state police Command’s Public Relation Officer Funmi Odunlami, is yet to comment on the incident as effort to reach her ended in futility.
But a police officer revealed that security personnel that inclusimg the state security outfit codenamed Amotekun, have been deployed its to comb the forest and ensure the safe release of the cleric
” It’s true, the state police command is on top of the situation.
” We are collaborating with other security agencies to ensure the release of the victim unhurt.
Relations of the victim declined to comment when asked for comment.
