Eid-el Kabir: Katsina gov urges Muslims to embrace peaceful coexistence

The Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda has urged Nigerians to live peacefully and harmoniously, noting that is what can promote love and peace among the citizens as they celebrate the 2023 Eid-El-Kabir.

The Governor made the urge in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, issued and made available to journalists on Tuesday, saying this Eid-El-Kabir should reawaken the country spirit of brotherhood irrespective of their religious and ideological creeds and see each other as one.

Radda urged Muslims in Katsina and other parts of the country to steadfastly pray for national unity, peace and integration during this season.

The Governor disclosed that the religious festival has bestowed on Muslims across the world the opportunity to appreciate their creator’s endless favours.

“This solemn festival should reawaken our brotherhood spirit. Irrespective of our religious and ideological creeds, we must see each other as one. Fundamentally, we should all live peacefully and harmoniously. That is what will help to foster peace, love and true brotherhood among all Nigerians,” he said.

Advising Muslims, Radda said, “Muslims to be like Prophet Ibrahim who dutifully obeyed Allah and offered to sacrifice his beloved son, Ismail; Muslims should rededicate themselves to sincerely worshipping their divine Lord, and adhere to religious injunctions that will earn them God’s abundant favours, both in this world and in the hereafter.

“The Eid-El-Kabir festival should go beyond the slaughtering of rams to sharing love and material possessions not only with relatives or acquaintances but also with the displaced, the elderly, the orphans and other people at the margin of the society, including those with special needs,” said the Katsina State Governor.

The Governor stressed that Nigeria, as a nation, is at a critical juncture of its evolution, induced by various challenges stalling progress of Nigeria economically, calling for the support, prayers and goodwill of the masses to guide her leaders as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governors and other political leaders who are working tirelessly to rebuilding the nation.
