Vote politicians with anti-corruption agenda, Oluwo urges Nigerians

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has advised Nigerians to vote politicians with anti-corruption agenda in the forth coming general election in Nigeria.

Oba Akanbi, who made this plea in his New Year’s speech to Nigerians, adding that the need to restore Nigeria’s glory meant that the manifesto of each candidate with a special interest in fighting corruption should be taken into account.

The message, made accessible by Alli Ibraheem, his spokeswoman in Osogbo on Saturday, emphasized that corruption in Nigeria’s system was caused by corrupt leaders and urged voters to speak up by voting for respectable people with established track records to ensure a corrupt-free administration.

“I am so optimistic in Nigeria and Nigerians. Nigeria is blessed with rich resources enough to cater for the needs of all and sundry.

“The only bane to our desired growth is corruption and corrupt politicians. 2023 is here and will present a golden opportunity to right the wrong by voting for credible individuals without blemish to lead us to greatness. Electorates can restore sanity by asking questions and ensure candidates with corrupt-free agenda are voted for.

“Our destiny is in our hands. I urge Nigerians to speak with their votes by rejecting corrupt politicians who are likely to contribute to Nigeria’s woes.

“I express the hope that reasonable Nigerians will have the opportunity to place Nigerians on the path to greatness once again with their votes,” he said.
