Osinbajo, Ooni, others celebrate Ogun monarch Akarigbo at 60

 

Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osibanjo, has joined other important dignitaries to celebrate the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi on the occasion of his 60th birthday and five years coronation anniversary.

Others who celebrated the monarch are, Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye among others.

The vice president stated that Akarigbo’s reign has brought peace and prosperity for the people of Remoland in his message of goodwill to commemorate the monarch’s 60th birthday and five-year coronation anniversary.

Osibanjo emphasized his pride in the monarch’s numerous accomplishments over the past few years.

He said, “We also take the opportunity to congratulate Your Royal Highness once again on the conferment of the National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) on you by His Excellency the President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

“We are proud of your many accomplishments in these few years and thank our Lord God for His grace through which your reign remains one of peace and prosperity for the people of Remoland since your ascension to the throne of your fathers.”

Also speaking at grand finale of the anniversary at the palace of the Monarch in Sagamu on Sunday, showered the Akarigbo with royal blessing.

He also noted that the the Remo people were originally from Ile-Ife.

The governor of Ogun State stated that Akarigbo has achieved milestones that belie his age.

Abiodun went on to say that the monarch has brought vibrancy, vigour, commitment, and a deep sense of honor to the state’s traditional institutions.

Your indefatigable role as the current Chairman of Ogun State Council of Obas has been of tremendous blessing to the success of our administration.”
