NAHCON inaugurates 2023 Hajj media team

The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan has inaugurated the National Media Team for the 2023 Hajj, urging them not to betray the the ethics of their profession in performing their duties.

Alhaji Hassan commissioned the National Media Team for the 2023 Hajj on Thursday at Hajj House, Abuja, saying power of media cannot be over-emphasized, it can make or mar the society, based on this fact, journalists should at always exhibit, fairness, accuracy and objectivity.

Alhaji Hassan rejoiced with members of the team for surmounting the selection hurdles, saying they should see themselves as partners in progress with NAHCON to achieve a seamless Hajj exercise.

He promise that all registered pilgrims would be airlifted, “and right on time too”, noting that the advance party of NAHCON officials will leave for Saudi Arabia on Sunday, May 21 to prepare the ground for Nigerian pilgrims.

Also speaking, Commissioner for Planning, Research, Statistics, Information and Library Services, Sheikh Suleiman Imonikhe Momoh and his counterpart in in charge Policy, Personnel Management & Finance, Nura Hassan Yakasai, urged members of the media team to be good representative of the profession by being fair, objective and balanced in the strenuos task of news reporting in Nigeria and in Saudi Arabia during the entire period of the Hajj exercise.
