Kano, Delta monarchs grace Olu of Warri’s anniversary

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III first coronation anniversary was on Saturday graced by the Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero and the Dein of Agbor, Benjamin Ikenchuku.

The traditional rulers joined the sons and daughters of Itsekiri ethnic nationality at the Ode-Itsekiri Community for the celebration.

According to Vanguard, the monarch’s visit to the event was to felicitate the Olu of Warri, who was crowned on Aug. 21, 2021

Indigenes of Itsekiri ethnic nationality at the Ode-Itsekiri Community both home and abroad came to Iwere nation to pay homage to the Olu of Warri.

The people of Iwere nation honour their King as several communities, Warri Council of Chiefs, groups, associations, among others, took a turn to fete the King.

Community of Omadino who are currently the Palace guard, amused visitors with colourful Itsekiri traditional dance.

Represented by her daughter, the Igbah of Warri Kingdom, Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor gifted the King a sculpture, representing the 19th Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II.

Atuwatse III, commend his guests, especially the Emir of Kano and the Dein of Agbor, for travelling far to felicitate with him.

“I specifically thanked the Emir of Kano for travelling far to felicitate with the Itsekiris. I also thanked the Dein of Agbor.

“I am honoured to have both of you here; I speak for everyone to say you have added grace to this occasion.
