I would’ve become a pastor – Tonto Dike

Politician cum actress, Tonto Dikeh, has revealed that she once aspired to become a pastor.

Dikeh made this known in a recent episode of the ‘#WithChude’ podcast hosted by Chude Jideonwo.

The Rivers State deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress,  stated that she might still become a pastor “depending on where God is taking her to.”

“I’m an opportunist with this thing called acting or entertainment. But for God, He has ordained that step already. For me, I was just swimming in a swimming pool,” she said.

“I mean, I was a church girl going to be a pastor. I was supposed to be a pastor, I still might be. Depending on where God is taking me to.”

The 35-year-old mother of one stated that before pursuing a career in acting and entertainment, she was a “church girl” who aspired to serve as a minister of God.

The award-wining actress has made a name for herself in the Nigerian film business.

African Democratic Congress candidate for governor of Rivers state, Tonte Ibraye, recently chose Dikeh as his running mate for the 2023 election.

The actress was nominated two years after she revealed her intent to enter politics in 2023.

Aside acting and politics, Dikeh is also known for philanthropy. She recently disclosed that she funds the schooling cost of about 3,500 children yearly.
