Eid-el-fitr: Bauchi Islamic NGO trains members on traffic management

In preparation for the celebration of Eid-el-fitr, a Bauchi State-based non-governmental organisation, known as the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation has given training to members of joint Islamic Aid Organisation on basic and technical skills on crowd and traffic management, emergency response to ensure orderliness and free-flow of traffic during the festive period in the state.

Leadership reported that the volunteers’ two-day training held at the Bauchi Central Mosque Jama’atul Nasril Islam on Sunday, was sponsored by the foundation chairman and indigene of Bauchi Local Government Area, Alhaji Bala Wunti.

The Director of National Aid Group of Jama’atu Nasril Islam Alhaji Bala Ibrahim Sani, while speaking at the training, explained that the foundation chairman have over the years sponsored such Islamic promotional activities by giving volunteers the prerequisites to perform their duties.

Sani, while noting that the training is the fifth of its kind being sponsored by Bala Wunti, said, “We lack words to express our gratitude to the founder of the foundation other than pray for bountiful rewards from Allah”.

According to Sani who is also the Lifidin Bauchi, the foundation trained 150 Islamic Aids members who can also step it down to other volunteers to ensure the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebration is smooth, orderly and accident-free.

Lifidin Bauchi expressed optimism that the trained volunteers would assist corps of the Federal Road Safety Commission , the Red Cross operatives and other sister/voluntary organisations for a peaceful Ei-del-fitr celebration.

He also expressed to the foundation leader the need for some ambulance vehicles for essential medical services during such voluntary activities.

The foundation chairman, who is regarded as philanthropic and patriotic indigene of the state, Alhaji Bala Wunti said that the training of the ‘Yan Agaji is focused on the conduct and celebration of Eid-el-fitr by the Muslims Ummah slated for next week.

Wunti, who is a group general manager, National Petroleum Investment Management Services, affirmed that his commitment to the foundation’s determination to ensure that the thousands of Muslim faithful attending various Eid Grounds are properly guided gave birth to the exercise.
