Easter: Don’t be carried away by merriment, Anambra Bishop warns Christians

The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Anambra State, Rt Rev Samuel Ezeofor, has called on the Christians to take advantage of the Easter period to build bridges of trust and true reconciliation and not be carried away by the merriments inherent in the festival.

The Sun reported that Bishop Ezeofor made this call in his 2023 Easter Message at the Chapel of Grace Bishops Court Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The cleric also reminded the Christians that Christ is the main reason for the season.

The Bishop noted that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the hope of the believer and the basis of Christianity while admonishing the believers not to let the purpose of the Easter to be defeated because the death and resurrection of Christ brought redemption to mankind.

Ezeofor stated further that Christ’s resurrection made Him the first fruit to succeed in life and those who believe and trust in him must also succeed and bear fruits in all their endeavours.

The Anglican prelate then called on Nigerians to accept Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour; while also calling on the leaders of the nation to live a Christ-like life who humbled himself all through his journey on earth, despite his kingship position.
