Council of Imams condemns Kaduna train attack

Kaduna train attack

The Council of Imams and Ulama in Kaduna State has condemned terrorists’ attack on a Kaduna-bound train which occurred on Monday.

The Council, Nigeria’s umbrella body of Islamic scholars, made this known in a statement by its Secretary-General, Yusuf Yakubu-Arrigasiy in Kaduna.

Yakubu-Arrigasiy described the incident, which, led to the death of innocent and promising Nigerians, as “tragic and of great concern.”

He, however, sympathised with Nigerians on the unfortunate incident.

“The council pray for quick recovery of those injured and the immediate release of those kidnapped,” Yakubu-Arrigasiy said in the statement.

According to the statement, the council observes that fighting bandits through sporadic tactics will not yield any desirable result, and therefore urged security agencies to restrategise.

The council further advocated proactive measures to secure villages and roads as well as protect lives and property.
