Buhari, Atiku wish Sheikh Bauchi quick recovery

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Ret’d.), and the presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, have wished the renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, a quick recovery from his current illness.

 

Buhari’s message was contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, conveyed by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Pantami, on his behalf.

 

In the statement which is titled ‘President Buhari wishes Dahiru Bauchi a quick recovery’, the president wished the 95-year-old a ”speedy recovery and good health.”

 

The President also made some prayers for the cleric, asking Allah to increase the health of the Islamic leader for his noble teachings to continue to guide his followers and the nation in its efforts to build a just and compassionate society.

 

Buhari’s get-well-soon message read in part, ”My prayers go out to him. May Allah give him good health and speedy recovery.”

 

In his response to the president, the Islamic leader thanked him for the care and goodwill, praying for the continued success of the administration in nation building, peace and prosperity.

 

Atiku also sent a speedy recovery message via his Twitter handle to the Sheikh, acknowledging his outstanding leadership and wishing for his speedy recovery.

 

He wrote, “I have just received disturbing news that Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, the leader of the Tijjaniyya Islamic Movement in Nigeria, is unwell.

 

“Considering the outstanding leadership and friendship the revered Sheikh shares with people across the country, I am sending my best wishes for his speedy recovery and good health.

 

“Get well soon Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi and may Almighty Allah continue to preserve, protect and strengthen you for the continued service to our people.”
