Akwa Ibom Archbishop Elijah Mboho dies at 87

The Archbishop of the Good News Community International Gospel Village, Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Primate Elijah Akpan Mboho is dead.

According to a source close to the man of God, the Bishop died as a result of an old age-related ailment.

The 87-year-old Bishop became the Prelate of the Good News Community International in 1975, and he has been the spiritual father of the church since then. The capacity, under which he served, until his demise.

The Clergyman, who was one of the philanthropic preachers in Akwa Ibom, served as the spiritual head of the Gospel Village, which was also used as a charity home, by catering to homeless children.

Born in 1913, Elijah Akpan Okon was part of a royal family with a line of leaders and chiefs in Ikot Mbon Ikono, Uyo, in the present Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria.

His father, Chief Nsentip Ekown, a prominent ruler of Ikono and the suburbs, named him Ukpong Nsentip Ekown.

He studied Rural Science Education, and community development at Umuahia in 1940, and also had a Graduation Certificate in Agriculture and Home Economics through the Pennsylvania State College, USA, in 1947.

He obtained a Diploma in Business Management and company Secretarial studies from a London school in 1952.

The man of God, who dedicated his life to the work of God and service to humanity, was well-known in his community, for his philanthropic work.
